A Twist on the Traditional Pretzel - Quinn Snack Foods

When Pretzel Expert travels to different areas of the country, he searches the local bodegas for pretzels that he might not otherwise find in his hometown. During a recent visit to Utah with Mrs. Pretzel Expert (ran a 1/2 marathon at night on a trail at Zion National Park) I stopped in the town of Springdale and picked up Quinn Whole Grain Pretzel Twists; note the background in the above photo. At checkout, the cost was $7.00! I wondered if the pretzels were covered in gold dust. Actually, stores in Springdale have to make their money during the summer tourist season at Zion NP, so I paid. I was not disappointed! They have a very good taste unlike a traditional wheat flour style pretzel. The ingredients are listed as:

Whole Grain Sorghum Flour,Long Grain Brown Rice Flour,Tapioca Starch,Potato Starch,Organic Palm Oil,Sea Salt,Organic Evaporated Cane Juice,Organic Apple Cider Vinegar,Xanthan Gum,Sodium Bicarbonate,Sunflower Lecithin.

Surprisingly, the pretzels have 3g of Fat (although the company's website shows the pretzels have 4g of Fat).

Fortunately I can find the Quinn snacks at a local grocery store and won't need to pay exorbitant prices for a very good tasting pretzel.
